Hi Geometry Students!
Geometry is the study of visual patterns and learning geometry is greatly enhanced by being able to see these patterns and by using diagrams. This course is designed to help students develop and refine their analytical, inductive, and deductive thinking skills. In this course, students will often “learn by doing” through an informal guided-discovery approach. They will actively be involved in this process of learning and will actually “discover” geometry for themselves. Essential Learning Outcomes: A.1. Describe compound transformations. B.1. Use properties of similar polygons to set up and solve proportions. B.2. Solve for unknown sides of right triangles using trigonometry and the Pythagorean Theorem. C.1. Calculate and apply the area and volume formulas to real-life situations. D.1. Use coordinates to prove simple geometric theorems algebraically (slope, distance formula, midpoint formula) E.1. Calculate an arc length and a sector area of a circle. F.1. Compute probabilities of compound events. This is where you can:
